Goss says farmland values aren’t slowing down
An economist says farmland values have not reached their peak.
Ernie Goss is with Creighton University. “We’re seeing farmland prices go for as much as $25,000 an acre.”
He tells Brownfield the farm economy is strong. “We’re probably going to continue to see farmland prices grow,” Goss said. “Not only are farmers paying more for farmland, but they are also buying new equipment and that’s a good thing for the rural communities out there.”
Goss says the latest Rural Mainstreet Index shows farmland prices have advanced for 29 straight months.
