Good harvest progress in-between Missouri rains

The more than 1.5 inches of rain that fell across Missouri in the last week helped improve soil moisture and winter wheat emergence, but dry conditions remain. Topsoil moisture supplies are rated 55% adequate, with subsoil moisture supplies rated 60% short to very short.

USDA says 83% of Missouri’s winter wheat crop is planted, with more than half of the crop emerged. 90% of Missouri’s corn is harvested, ahead of average. 86% of Missouri’s soybeans are harvested, also ahead of average. Cotton harvest is 92% complete.
