Funding available for Ohio agricultural land preservation

Ohio landowners can apply for the next round of USDA funds to protect agricultural land.

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has made $4 million available to qualified Ohio landowners for easements. These easements secure lands for future generations by preventing development of the property for non-agricultural purposes.

The funding is part of a national effort by USDA-NRCS through the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program. Applications are accepted year round but to apply for the next round of funding, landowners must apply by February 1st of next year.

Landowners should contact their local NRCS office to apply.
