Former Dean Foods plants sold

Two former Dean Foods milk processing plants have been sold as part of the court-approved bankruptcy plan.

The plants in DePere, Wisconsin and Harvard, Illinois have been acquired by a partnership involving New Dairy Opco, also known as “New Borden” and Select Milk Producers.

Most of the former Dean Foods assets were acquired by Dairy Farmers of America in November of 2019.  New Borden acquired most of the assets of the old Borden dairy in a separate bankruptcy proceeding last year.

The Department of Justice has approved the transfer of the DePere and Harvard plants.

  • So will the plant stay open or will it close July 9 2022 as if it closes its doors milk for the area will be too expensive to buy as shippers will have to drive to des monies IA
