Fordyce: CFAP2 funding on pace

The head of the USDA Farm Service Agency says they’re on pace to fulfill all payments through the 2nd round of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program. FSA Administrator Richard Fordyce tells Brownfield CFAP1 was funded by congressional appropriations through the CARES Act while CFAP-2 is Commodity Credit Corporation money with a little bit of CARES money.

“But we monitor and watch the balances, where we are on payments for the program, where we are with our borrowing limits with the CCC.”

Fordyce says FSA is confident they are managing Commodity Credit Corporation funds correctly, “There’ll be ample funding to fund our traditional farm bill programs along with finishing up the ad hoc program of CFAP-2

Fordyce reminds farmers the deadline to apply for CFAP2 is December 11th.

Brownfield interviewed Fordyce during the National Association of Farm Broadcasting virtual convention.
