Food and Ag Month celebrations planned for March

Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer has declared March as Food and Agriculture Month.

Michigan Agriculture and Rural Development acting director Kathy Angerer tells Brownfield the industry contributes more than $104 billion to the state annually.

“When you sit down to dinner, it’s time to thank a Michigan producer, eat Michigan products, buy Michigan products—it’s good for Michigan when we do that,” she says.

Social media posts and events across the state during March will feature the diversity of Michigan’s ag industry and stories of local businesses throughout the supply chain.
