Field demonstrations a big draw at Farm Science Review

The Farm Science Review kicks off today in London Ohio and one of the big draws each year is the on-site field demonstrations.

Farm Science Review manager Nick Zachrich says the field demonstrations typically give farmers insight on new technologies and new equipment they can use on their operations, but they also serve as an opportunity to educate farmers on methods to improve how they manage their crops and fields.

“If you have questions about machines, machines you already have on your farm that they may be able to help you with. They may have been around for a few years and know what adjustments you can make to make improvements to your operation.” says Zachrich.

Zachrich says this year the demos will include information on water quality and water management for crop fields.

“They’ll be installing some tiles, field tile in one of our fields that we typically use for tilliage, so we’ll have a separate field for tillage this year and that demonstration will be on Wednesday right in the middle of field demos.” says Zachrich.

The Farm Science Review has over 600 acres of land for field demonstrations featuring corn, soybeans, wheat and field management techniques. The Farm Science Review runs through Thursday.
