Field days boost productivity, profitability

Illinois soybean growers took the opportunity over three days to boost profitability through a series of field days.  At the final one of the three, southwest Illinois grower and Illinois Soybean Association Director David Droste told Brownfield Ag News that the field days – in northern, central and in southern Illinois – keep farmers productive.

“You are facing challenges that producers have in trying to keep their production levels high and profitability high,” said Droste, at the event in Benton, Illinois Thursday, “so therefore, hopefully with this information they have some takeaway that they can try to use in their practices to make them more profitable and more productive.”

The three field days featured information about managing herbicide, soil nutrition, fertility and soil health.  The events were sponsored by the Illinois Soybean Association.
