February dairy exports show strong demand

The U.S. Dairy Export Council says dairy exports surged through February despite Leap Year and shipping challenges mainly driven by nonfat dry milk/skim milk powder to Mexico and Southeast Asia.

Dairy exports during February were up 15 percent in volume and up seven in value percent to $565.5 million. 

Total nonfat dry milk/skim milk powder exports grew more than 30 percent compared to 2020 volumes with nearly a 40 percent rise from Southeast Asia and 30 percent increase from Mexico.

U.S. cheese exports increased one percent compared to last year and was the highest in seven months.  Whey exports were up nearly 30 percent.
