FCSAmerica official calls for Midwest disaster assistance

The head of Omaha-based Farm Credit Services of America, Mark Jensen, is urging “fast action” by Congress to pass a disaster relief bill, including assistance for Midwest producers impacted by recent storms and flooding.

“We’re grateful for the committee’s support of the pending disaster bill, and urge you to include assistance for Midwest producers devastated by these storms and pass the bill immediately,” Jensen said. “With spring planting season just ahead of us, the timing of disaster assistance is critical.”

Jensen testified Tuesday before a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing on the rural economy.
