Farmers urge EPA to approve year-round E15
Farmers are closely watching as the Environmental Protection Agency works to complete a rule allowing year-round sales of E15 by June 1.
Northeastern Indiana farmer Sarah Delbecq says farmers and consumers would both benefit from year-round sales of E15.
“It’s a way to boost octane, it’s better for the environment, it will lower the cost of fuel for consumers so when you look at those big picture accomplishments of what this would offer it’s like okay let’s get this done,” she says.

Central Indiana farmer Mike Beard says he’s hopeful the rule will be in place in time for the summer driving season.
“We’re hoping it will get done, the EPA has closed its comment but they need to take a look at what those comments really say,” he says.

Delbecq and Beard spoke to Brownfield at the High Octane Fuel Summit in Speedway, Indiana.
