Farmers Union to feed National Guard troops

Farmers Union Enterprises is donating 50-thousand dollars to feed the troops.  They plan to serve a meal to roughly five-thousand National Guard members serving at the nation’s capital a home-style meal through their Founding Farmers Restaurants next week and distributed through the military’s food service network.

Wisconsin Farmers Union President Darin Von Ruden says, “We hope the gift of some homestyle cooking from our farmer-owned restaurants reminds the troops that we appreciate their sacrifice and the time they’ve spent away from their families.” He says, “The National Guard, like our farmer members, are doing important work. This is our way of thanking them for their service in protecting our capitol and democracy.”
