Farmers ready to put trade war behind them

Farmers like Theresia Gillie are ready to put the trade war behind them.

“This has been a hard time for growers.”

The northern Minnesota farmer, who was invited to the White House for the phase one signing ceremony last month, tells Brownfield weather challenges haven’t helped.

“And we want to continue to get these markets back open so that we can see that profitability line moving forward.”

In phase one, China has committed to purchasing at least $80 billion in U.S. ag products over the next two years.  But Chinese trade officials have

also said the purchases will be “in line with market terms.”
