Farmers face tractor tire shortages ahead of next growing season

Farmers are facing a shortage of tractor tires.

CLAAS North American marketing manager Allen Miller says tire manufacturers are having a hard time finding raw materials and labor.

“To actually take the raw materials and turn them into a finished product, I think it’s (created) a lot of delays in the market.”

He tells Brownfield demand for new equipment is also contributing to the problem.

“And with that increase, production had not forecasted, in my opinion, enough units to fulfill this demand.”

And Miller says tire shortages are happening everywhere.

“I think it’s a global thing. If we go over to Charles City, Iowa to Mitas, or Firestone, wherever we’re at, I think you’re going to find the same problems at any of the manufacturers.”
