Farmer urges caution on roads during planting

A Missouri farmer is urging roadway safety this growing season. Daniel Carpenter tells Brownfield farmers need to be cautious of vehicles on the road when moving farming machinery.

“It’s always our intentions to be safe whenever traveling on the highways and the roads and make sure we’re strapping down loads,” he said. “Just take a little bit of extra time to make sure we’re doing things the right way.”

The Carroll and Ray County farmer said no news is good news when it comes to farming related roadway accidents. Carpenter said accidents often affect the entire farming community.

“Each one of them makes you stop and think because for everybody in this area, there’s a really good chance that you know people,” Carpenter said.

He said there haven’t been any accidents in his area this spring. Carpenter encourages farmers to avoid getting into a rush.
