Farmer says crops are looking good

East Central Arkansas Farmer Jim Carroll says his crops are looking good after a wet and delayed planting season.

“It looks really good we have had some mild temperatures and a little rain after the crops got up,” he says. “I think all and all the soybeans look good- they’re blooming and setting pods and I’m pleased.”

He grows soybeans, corn, and rice near Brinkley.

“We try to stay in a three-crop rotation right now,” he says. “I wish I was a Midwest guy and I could have a two-crop rotation but that doesn’t seem to do very well in the south.”

Carroll is Chair of the United Soybean Board.
