Farm Bureau’s Duvall says climate bill efforts seem postponed

American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall says while the Growing Climate Solutions Act might have been the most bipartisan supported piece of legislation this year, it’s unlikely to be passed.

“We will just have to see where they focus their time. I think they are going to spend most of their time on Build Back Better.”

Farm Bureau was part of founding efforts to create the Food and Agriculture Climate Alliance taking a lead on the climate conversation.  Duvall expects momentum spurred by the alliance to continue.

“That alliance is going to stay together so that it can work together to try and find principles and recommendations around the next farm bill because it has been so successful.”

Duvall says uniting with more groups outside of agriculture with similar goals has been effective and will likely be used to address future issues with lawmakers.
