Exports top MO Corn’s priority list in 2021

The CEO of the Missouri Corn Growers Association says exports are the association’s top priority this year.

“We think exports of corn in all forms and that means whether it’s bulk corn or corn exports in the form of ethanol or distillers’ grains,” Gary Marshall said. “We think it’s going to be a fantastic year for that.”

Gary Marshall said the association will also spend time working on meat exports calling them value-added corn products.

He tells Brownfield expanding E15’s reach is another focus.

“Our big focus legislatively in the next year or so is going to be trying to pass legislation for even higher ethanol blends,” Marshall said.

Marshall said while electric vehicle expansion is coming, he hopes ethanol plays a key role in energy for the next 10 to 15 years. Marshall says the Missouri Corn Growers Association will also be working to move the Renewable Fuel Standard back to its original form under the Biden administration.

Brownfield’s Rhiannon Branch contributed to this article.
