Excess moisture limits Wisconsin farmers

Snow in the north and excessive wetness everywhere else is slowing fieldwork in Wisconsin.

USDA’s latest crop report says topsoil moisture is 100 percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is 99 percent adequate to surplus.

But farmers are optimistic warmer conditions this week will allow for some progress.

The condition of winter wheat held steady at 57 percent good to excellent, and pasture condition is rated 41 percent good to excellent statewide.
