EU welcomes projected Biden win for trade

The reaction from European allies over the projected U.S. presidential election winner Joe Biden is positive. Officials have expressed hope for a better trade relationship.

At the start of his term, President Trump ended talks over a US – EU trade deal and imposed higher tariffs on imported European steel and aluminum. The Biden win could also be positive for an EU deal with the United Kingdom.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, today, praised the U.S. president-elect’s “decades of experience in both domestic and foreign policy.”
