Ethanol production up on week

U.S. ethanol production moved higher last week, while stocks were the tightest since late June.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production was up 15,000 barrels on the week at an average of 1.038 million a day, even as some plants close and the industry pushes for EPA policy changes.

The domestic supply dipped 385,000 barrels to 22.982 million.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out September 12th.
