Ethanol production down slightly

Programs ICON

U.S. ethanol production dipped a little last week.

Production was down slightly from the recent record high and continue to be driven by improved plant capacity, the relatively low price and ample supply of corn, and solid demand. The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production for the week ending August 19th, averaged 1.028 million barrels per day, down 1,000 from the week before.

Stocks were up 392,000 barrels 20.817 million barrels, potentially a sign of a slowdown in demand.
