Ernst concerned about farmer diesel costs

A US Senator from Iowa says high input costs continue to plague farmers.

Republican Joni Ernst tells Brownfield fertilizer prices are a major concern, but… “The other cost of course that hit them this spring and is going to hit them again this fall is the diesel costs,” she said. “When they are continuing to pay through the nose for really high fuel, it really cuts into their profit margins.”

She says the Biden administration needs to work on finding solutions that help bring down prices. “We’re really upset about what we’re getting as far as feedback from the administration,” Ernst said. “We feel they don’t really understand. They don’t get it.”

Ernst spoke to Brownfield at the 2022 Iowa State Fair.
