EPA to announce new water rule today
The EPA says it will formally announce it’s new rule later today to replace the Waters of the U.S. Rule under the Clean Water Act.
EPA administrator Andrew Wheeler says the new Navigable Waters Protection Rule “strikes the proper balance between Washington and the states in managing land and water resources, while protecting Navigable waters.”
The rule identifies four categories of water that are federally regulated under the Clean Water Act – AND, unlike the Obama Administration’s WOTUS rule, details what waters are NOT subject to federal control.
