EPA releases proposed RVOs

The EPA has released its long-awaited proposals for Renewable Volume Obligations for biofuels – which the Renewable Fuels Association calls a step in the right direction but concerns remain.

EPA proposes the 2022 RFS requirement right at 15 Billion gallons and says it will move to deny ALL pending small refinery exemption petitions based on last years 10th circuit court decision.

But, RFA says EPA’s proposal to reduce 2021 conventional renewable fuel requirements to just over 13 billion gallons AND reopen and reduce 2020 volumes would be harmful.

Meanwhile RFA thanks USDA for rolling out COVID-19 relief to biofuels producers.
