Early planted Missouri corn yielded ‘on par with averages’

Monsanto technical agronomist Brandon Bruce says the early planted corn he looks after in the southwest part of Missouri and southeast corner of Kansas was among the first harvested and was yielding 160 to 180 bushels per acre “where we had some good, timely rainfall this year,” said Bruce, in an interview with Brownfield Ag News.   “Some of that’s on the earlier planted corn that got in and kind of beat the wet weather stretch early and beat the heat when we ran into the June window.”
