Duvall says labor situation worsening

The president of the American Farm Bureau Federation says labor shortages continue to impact the ag industry.

“The lack of workers is holding American agriculture back,” said Zippy Duvall.

He says he would like to see Congress reform national labor laws. “We need legislators to put aside all of their political games and come to the table ready to find a solution.”

Duvall says AFBF supports immigration reform that would allow more workers into the H-2A visa program, but wage restructuring needs to be a priority.

He spoke during the Farm Bureau’s annual convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
