Duvall encourages members to get involved in advocacy for agriculture

American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall says it’s critical that the organization is inclusive and well-rounded so it can provide a unified voice for all farmers and ranchers.

He says the FUSION “Reimagined” Conference is a great place to do that.

“It’s designed to bring our members, farm bureau leaders, ag groups, and even future leaders to the table so they can share with each other, grow in their abilities to lead, and help build stronger agriculture and communities,” he says.

Duvall says advice his dad gave him when he was just out of college still rings true today…”you have to manage your time, son, and some of that time needs to be spent outside your fence rows. Outside your fence rows involved in advocacy around policies that impact agriculture.”

Duvall encouraged FUSION participants to become more engaged at the local level.

“Agriculture has a bright future, and your leadership is going to make it brighter,” he says.

The FUSION Conference brings together committee leaders involved in the Young Farmers and Ranchers, Women’s Leadership, and Promotion and Education Farm Bureau programs. The conference concludes Saturday, March 13.
