DTN plans for data expansions with Farm Market iD purchase

DTN has announced it has acquired Farm Market iD to help expand its data offerings.

Steve Rao, president of Farm Market iD, says the companies are a good cultural fit and will build on previous work like farmer surveys they recently partnered on to understand impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

Farm Market iD collects data on more than 300 million acres of crops to help farms made better management decisions along with providing data to agribusinesses to deliver hyper-local marketing campaigns.

DTN expects the acquisition will grow benchmarking and other metrics within their current portfolio and leverage solutions throughout the ag value chain.
