Severe drought conditions have stretched to more counties along the Missouri River on the western part of the state.

Meanwhile, counties on the western edge of the state have deteriorated from abnormally dry to moderately dry.

Several counties in southeast Missouri went from normal to abnormally dry this week leaving only 27 percent of the state free of drought.
