Danforth Center gets grant for CATALST

The Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis has won a $1.5 Million federal grant* to support its new Center for AgTech and Applied Location Science and Technology, CATALST.

Danforth’s Director of Innovation, Stephanie Regagnon, says the funds will be used to establish the new center which will help entrepreneurs scale innovations and commercialization of new ag technologies, all while creating jobs.

“Leveraging our strength in these two sectors provides St. Louis with a distinct and unique competitive advantage to take a leadership role in the fourth industrial revolution and strengthen our economic competitiveness for generations to come.”

The new center will provide paid internships at early-stage startups, through BIO S-T-L, to advance research and development.

With T-REX, CATALST will offer virtual and in-person events that will heighten engagement between geospatial and ag experts. St. Louis is considered a leader in both.
