Crouch: Kettler will help grow Indiana ag

The Indiana Lt. Governor says Bruce Kettler stood out from a long list of contenders for Indiana’s new director of agriculture.

Suzanne Crouch says his extensive agriculture background makes him perfect for the role.

“Bruce’s personality is very collaborative,” she says. ” he’s all about consensus building, which I think is going to be key in bringing our agriculture stakeholders together and have all of us working in tandem towards achieving our Indiana agriculture strategic plan.”

She tells Brownfield it’s critical that Indiana has an ag director who can work with the state department of agriculture and economic development corporation to grow the industry.

She says Kettler is more than equipped to do just that.

“As our population continues to grow, being able to develop those kinds of technologies and strategies to be able to meet that demand is going to be key,” she says. “With Bruce heading the department of agriculture I feel very confident we’re going to be able to play our role in achieving that goal.”

Kettler will begin his new role January 8th.

Kettler most recently worked as director of public relations for Beck’s. He began his career at Dow AgroSciences and was there for 17 years.
