Crop conditions decline in South Dakota

South Dakota producers saw a decline in crop conditions last week.

The USDA says the state’s corn condition rating declined six percentage points to 68 percent good to excellent. Thirteen percent of the crop was silking, behind 24 percent last year.

Soybean conditions were down one percent week-to-week at 68 percent good to excellent. Thirty percent of the crop was blooming, with four percent setting pods.

Winter wheat is rated 33 percent good to excellent, down seven percent from the week prior. Twenty-five percent of the crop has been harvested.

Pasture and range conditions were rated 38 percent good to excellent, a decline of six percent from the previous week.
