Cows return to UW campus classes

Students and cows have returned to the University of Wisconsin Madison campus.

When COVID-19 hit in March, students left campus, and the research herd was relocated from the Dairy Cattle Center to the Arlington Agricultural Research Station, about half an hour north of Madison.

The Dairy Cattle Center on campus is used by fifteen courses in the dairy science, veterinary medicine programs, and the Farm and Industry Short Course.

Students are following public health guidelines at school, including while they are in the research barn.

During the five-month absence of cows, the facility was cleaned, and has been re-inspected for their grade A license.
