Corn silking jumps up in Missouri

Corn development took a big jump in Missouri this past week. Silking is up 30 percentage points as of Sunday, now at 80 percent. The condition rating for corn in Missouri has held steady since early July. 83% of the Missouri corn crop is in Fair to Good condition.

Soybeans blooming reached 44 percent. Soybeans setting pods reached 14 percent.

Soybean condition is very close to early July, with 85% of the crop in Fair to Good condition.  Cotton squaring reached 82 percent.

Cotton condition is mostly fair to good. Rice condition is even better at 72% good to Excellent.

More than 90-percent of Missouri pasture and range lands are in Fair to Good condition.
