Corn planting sits at 5% in Minnesota

Cold, wet weather continued to delay fieldwork across Minnesota last week.

USDA’s latest crop progress report shows corn planting at five percent and soybeans are just one percent planted.

Some farmers were able to prep ground for planting, spread manure and fertilizer, and plant small grains and potatoes.

There were also reports of cattle and calves being lost because of snow and flooding.
