Cooperatives are a great partner for agricultural outreach

An executive with an agricultural cooperative says communication and transparency will be paramount in the future success of the agriculture industry.

Todd Masten with Co-Alliance says that means sharing the message of agriculture and he says ag cooperatives can do just that.  “We have to tell our story together,” he says.  “We have to have a plan as an industry.  I can’t think of a better way to do that than our cooperatives system because they are an organization of everybody with a common goal.”

He tells Brownfield there are great opportunities in agriculture.  Especially for the next generation workforce – some just aren’t aware of it yet.  “And really – as an older generation we should teach our younger generation what opportunities there are and how that fits their desires and their passions,” he says.  “And see if it catches.”
