Congress continues work on COVID relief

Lawmakers are taking another swing at passing a COVID relief package before the end of the year.

Minnesota U.S. Senator Tina Smith tells Brownfield Americans need Congress to come together and pass a bill that prioritizes expanding testing, helping those who are grappling with unemployment, and supporting small businesses.

The Democrat Ag Committee member says food banks must have enough food to meet the expected demand over the holidays, that nutrition programs meet the needs of families, and that farmers and rural businesses get the relief they need.

While COVID relief legislation is long overdue, Smith says, she is hopeful they can pass a bipartisan bill before the year’s end.
