Combines opening up Michigan fields

Michigan’s harvest continues to progress ahead of average.

Corn condition is rated 73 percent good to excellent condition. Eighty percent is dented, 44 percent is mature and corn silage harvest is 71 percent complete.  Two percent of corn was reported harvested for grain.

Soybeans are 68 percent good to excellent, with 76 percent dropping leaves.  Five percent of soybeans, 20 percent of sugarbeets, and 49 percent of dry beans have been harvested.

Harvest is also underway for apples, carrots, and potatoes.
