Coalition on Sustainable Productivity gains supporters

More than 50 organizations and countries are supporting the Coalition on Sustainable Productivity Growth for Food Security and Resource Conservation.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Dr. Jewel Bronaugh says the coalition supports productivity growth while optimizing agricultural sustainability.

“Together we can end hunger while conserving resources and building more sustainable and resilient food systems for today and tomorrow,” she says.

The effort was announced by the U.S. at the United Nation’s Food Systems Summit last month and now includes Australia, Brazil, land grant universities and numerous ag organizations among its supporters.

USDA is encouraging others to join the coalition which pledges to support sustainable productivity growth to meet the world’s nutrition needs without bankrupting farmers, consumers or nature.
