China reportedly to stick with Phase 1 deal

China reportedly says it will honor the phase one trade deal with the U.S. in spite of increased tensions over Hong Kong.

Reports says China HAS warned the U.S. that it will respond to “bullying” and that officials have invited Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to China to see there are no human rights violations.

Another report says China has asked U.S. Ambassador Terry Branstad to protest U.S. actions which they say interfere with local autonomy in Hong Kong. China has vowed to retaliate against the U.S. for any “bullying and unfairness imposed on China.”

Earlier this week, President Trump signed a law responding to China’s national security law in Hong Kong and removed Hong Kong’s preferential treatment.
