China main destination for corn, soybean export inspections

The USDA says China was the top destination for U.S. corn and soybeans during the week ending September 8th. The 2022/23 marketing year stared June 1 for wheat and September 1st for beans, corn, and sorghum.

Wheat came out at 736,515 tons, up 198,186 from the week ending September 1st and 169,077 from the week ending September 9th, 2022. The main destinations were Mexico and the Philippines. Early in the second quarter of the 2022/23 marketing year, wheat inspections are 6,399,999 tons, compared to 7,183,714 in 2021/22.

Corn was reported at 446,620 tons, 85,047 lower than the previous week, but 267,454 higher than a year ago. The leading destinations were China and Honduras. Just after the outset of the marketing year, corn inspections are 558,699 tons, compared to 218,619 this time last year.

Soybeans were pegged at 329,225 tons, 171,061 less than the prior week, but 135,331 more than last year. The top destinations were China and Pakistan. So far, this marketing year, soybean inspections are 381,524 tons, compared to 224,248 a year ago.

Sorghum totaled 46,513 tons, a decrease of 11,729 from the week before, but an increase of 41,987 from a year ago. The listed destinations were Somalia and Mexico. 2022/23 sorghum inspections are 47,807 tons, compared to 5,843 in 2021/22.
