Cattle reform and trade priorities for Grassley in ‘23

US Senator Chuck Grassley says he wants to see action taken on trade and cattle market reform in 2023.

The Iowa Republican says the Biden administration needs to step up its game on trade negotiations. “This administration is not doing enough on international agreements on trade,” Grassley said during a press call with farm reporters.

Grassley says he would also like to see movement on the Cattle Price Discovery and Transparency Act in the new Congress. “If we don’t get the cattle bill passed by the end of this year, which it looks like it might not, then we need to get that incorporated into the farm bill,” Grassley said.

And he says he would like to see crop insurance left “as-is” in the 2023 Farm Bill.
