California Farm Bureau announces support of Costa as House Ag Chair candidate

The California Farm Bureau Federation has announced its support of Congressman Jim Costa as he seeks chairmanship of the House Agriculture Committee.

California Farm Bureau President Jamie Johansson says Costa’s decades of experience in California agriculture make him the right person to lead the committee as Americans are challenged with keeping nutritious food available for all, growing opportunities for agriculturalists, and addressing climate risks.

Johansson says the congressman has worked across the aisle to help solve policy issues including water, trade, immigration, and the farm bill.

Congressman David Scott of Georgia is also seeking chairmanship of the House Ag Committee. Scott is the most senior member of the committee.
