Buttigieg says clear direction needed on infrastructure by June 7

The U.S. Transportation Secretary says Senate Democrats and Republicans must have a clear direction on an infrastructure plan when they return from the holiday recess on June 7th.

Pete Buttigieg told CNBC Sunday talks can’t go on forever and that “inaction is not an option.”

The two sides are still far apart.

GOP Senator Shelly Moore Capito of West Virginia told Fox News Sunday she thinks they can get to a real compromise.

Democrats could pass Biden’s plan without Republican support through the budget reconciliation process with a simple majority.
