Broadband a top priority for Minnesota Farm Bureau

Expanding rural broadband is a legislative priority for Minnesota Farm Bureau.

Amber Glaeser is director of public policy.

“We saw some great progress last year with funding for broadband. And I think that’s going to be the key to this right now is making sure the infrastructure is in place so that all of Minnesota has that access to broadband.”

She tells Brownfield it’s a bigger problem than many people realize.

“I think it’s one of those things that if you have the access to high-speed broadband, you really don’t think about the fact that your neighbors might not. So it’s definitely an issue we hear about all across the state.”

Glaeser says healthcare, transportation, and trade are other focus areas identified by Farm Bureau board directors during the annual meeting in November.

The 2020 Minnesota Legislative Session begins February 11th.
