Bonnie to be nominated USDA FPAC Under Secretary

American Farm Bureau and American Soybean Association leaders support President Biden’s intention to nominate of Robert Bonnie to serve as Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation. They say his solid background at USDA working with farmers and ranchers gives him firsthand knowledge of the challenges they face.

Bonnie is currently deputy chief of staff and senior advisor for climate at USDA. He led the Natural Resources Conservation Service and was Secretary Vilsack’s senior advisor on the environment and climate during the Obama administration.

Vilsack calls him “one of the nation’s foremost authorities and leaders on working lands approaches to conservation and incentive-based climate and conservation practices.”

USDA’s Farm Production and Conservation oversees the Farm Service Agency, NRCS, and the Risk Management Agency.
