Big changes coming to the MO State Fair

Big changes are in the works for the Missouri State Fair.

Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe tells Brownfield about $46 million is being invested in the state fairgrounds.

“Some of the highlights to that is the purchase of 200 acres of land to the west of us that butts up against our current campground,” he said. “We’re going to build 600 more campsites out there.”

And he said new facilities are on the way…

“We’re going to build a new, almost $30 million, climatized arena over on lot 9, which is kind of a parking area now,” Wolfe said. “So, we’re excited about that, we’ve got some future plans for additional barns and things going around that to develop an equine center out there.”

Wolfe said several existing barns are also being renovated.

Brownfield interviewed Wolfe at the Missouri State Fair on Thursday.
