Better crop conditions for Arkansas

Crop conditions in Arkansas are improving.

The USDA reports as of Sunday 73% of corn, 77% of cotton, 83% of peanuts, and 71% of soybeans are rated good to excellent. The alfalfa hay crop is only rated 44% good.

Many crops are progressing ahead of average with 95% of the corn crop silking, 74% in the dough stage, 44% dented, and 5% mature.  Cotton is now 95% squaring and 71% is setting bolls, while 92% of peanuts are pegging.  For soybeans, 93% of the crop is blooming and 73% is setting pods.
