ASA seeks expanded trade opportunities

The president of the American Soybean Association says trade expansion is critical to sustaining the success of US soybean farmers.

Brad Doyle tells Brownfield, “We are not reliant on one large customer. We know that China buys a lot of soybeans from Brazil, but we sell a lot of soybeans to China as well, as well as other customers all over the world.”

He says over 50% of domestic soybeans are exported annually. “We have representatives all over the world building and creating new relationships, and giving information to interested buyers of US soy.”

Doyle says ASA is optimistic the US Trade Representative will advance free trade agreements with countries that have potential to increase soy and livestock exports.
